Artist's Bio

Elaine, a native Texan, grew up in Longview and Ft. Worth, Texas. She has degrees in Nursing and Business, working mainly in Pediatrics at such places as Vanderbilt Medical Center, Albany Medical Center and with a private physician in Dallas. She has held many positions of leadership in her community, schools and church. Elaine loves nature, traveling, photography, fly fishing and painting. She has a large library of photographs to create original paintings from her travels to Africa, China, South America, Turkey, Mexico, Canada, The Caribbean Islands and most of the countries throughout Europe.

After her sons went off to college, a retired teacher and artist encouraged her to enroll in art classes at a local community college. She took classes in drawing, printmaking and oil painting. Her favorite subjects to paint reflect the love she holds for nature and the change of seasons, animals and people. Elaine comes by her love of art naturally. Her grandmother, mother and aunts were all late-blooming artists.

She works in many different media, including watercolor, acrylics and oil. Her wide repertoire also includes mixed media, collage and sculpture. She has studied under such nationally known artist as Linda Ridgway, Jane E. Jones, Nita Engle, Lynn McLain, Steven Napper. She has also studied with Ted Nuttall, Judi Betts, Judi Coffey, E. Gordon West, Frank Francese and Ken Hosmer.

She is an award winning member of the Association of Traditional Artists, the Society of Watercolor Artists, the DeSoto Art League, Texas Visual Arts Association and The Southwestern Watercolor Society. Her success as an artist can be attested to by the numerous paintings held in private collections.

Elaine resides in Duncanville, Texas with her husband, Allen, dog, Murphy, and cat, Princess. The Schneider's have two sons, one in Medical School and one in Divinity School.
